Belvedere Maps for Apple TV

The whole world on the big screen – and Prutz.

Open the app, pick a location, sit back. The camera slowly circles the Matterhorn, the Eiffel Tower or your own street – in 3D, with satellite imagery, for as long as you like. No sat-nav. No route. No ‘Turn left in 300 metres’. Belvedere doesn’t take you anywhere. That’s the point.

Over 30 hand-picked destinations await in the Explore section – cities, landmarks, natural wonders, the Earth from above – so no one has to tap away on the TV keyboard. If you do tap, you’ll get suggestions after three letters. Three map styles, one Play/Pause button. And if your favourite spot’s missing: the feedback form is open to all. Prutz is already in.

I just wanted to quickly check what the Matterhorn looks like from above. That was on Tuesday. The camera is still circling. So am I, somehow.

Bergfex

is still circling

I wanted to go to Linz. The app showed me Linz. Very nice, from above, with 3D buildings. Only four stars because Linz.

Commuters

don’t like Linz

My kids are spinning the Earth now. Left, right, left, every second. I’m dizzy, Australia probably is too.
